Happy March!

“Collective action remains the best way of renewing the march towards the great trinity of liberty, equality and solidarity.” ~ Guy Standing

We find ourselves in an interesting time. A year ago, we closed our doors for 11 weeks. We reopened at 50% capacity with a loyal online following and gratefully, are still open and thriving today. This time has allowed me an opportunity for soul searching and education. I have become so clear on my vision for Nourish BodyMindSoul. I seek to move toward a more authentic Practice that honors the ancient wisdom passed to us from India, acknowledging it’s sacred texts and origins. I seek to create an environment in which people of diverse experiences and abilities can feel seen, welcome and celebrated. One way, I am realizing this vision is to create the Nourish UNITY Teacher Training Fund which promotes equity in the yoga field for Black people, Indigenous people, and other People of Color, as well as differently abled bodies and non-binary persons. There is more information regarding this Fund here.

We kick off our first fundraiser on Sunday, March 21st when Brenna leads an Ashtanga Half-Primary Workshop from 12-2pm. She’ll introduce us to the opening and closing chants of Ashtanga Yoga, offer philosophical context, and lead us through a fast-paced yet modifiable physical practice.

This fundraiser will be in person and via zoom. Please pre-register here if you plan to attend in person as space is limited. If you are planning to attend via zoom, please make a $50 donation (or more if you wish) prior to the event via our PayPal button at the bottom of our homepage and you will be emailed all workshop documents.

Also this month, Hilary Crowley returns with our monthly Intuition Circle on March 5 6-9pm. These monthly circles are casual, uplifting and a lot of fun. Come and experience what happens when women gather to honor their body’s wisdom. $40 Space is limited, so sign up here.

Last, but not least, I am thrilled that my dear friend, Erin Byron, MA, C-IAYT
Erin is a co-founder of IAYT-accredited Comprehensive Yoga Therapist Training and founder of Trauma Aware Certified Yoga Training, is presenting a 3 day Intensive on the Prana Vayus on March 26-28. $425

In this weekend intensive you will:

Identify the significance of prana and 5 ways it flows through you
Decode and experience their relevance to your health
Link your physical senses to your subtle senses
Apply these principles to direct mental well-being, expressive arts and empathic abilities
Explore methods that help you feel/see variations in life force
Experiment with new ways to bring physical, energetic and mental health benefits to your life, classes and practice.
Learn via postures, breath work, relaxation, discussion, visualization & other creative yogic tools.

Open to yoga teachers & therapists, schoolteachers, mental/holistic health professionals and people seeking to refine their energy awareness.
Participants who attend the entire intensive will receive a Healing with the Prana Vayus Certificate and CEU’s for Yoga Alliance or IAYT.

I am so excited! I hope that you are too! One last tidbit before signing off. Sheila Pierson-Roy is now teaching at 9am on Thursdays and Sundays. Both classes are now available in person as well as on zoom. Vaccinations are great! Aren’t they? So glad to have her spread her gentle wisdom twice as often!

Sending so much love to you as we prepare to welcome Spring!

May we continue to allow yoga to speak through us as a vessel for unity. (phrase inspired by Susanna Barkataki, author of Embrace Yoga’s Roots)
