    Today marks the shortest day of the year and the longest night. From this day until Midsummer, the days will grow longer. This is acknowledged and celebrated throughout many cultures. In Celtic tradition, the Winter Solstice was a time of rebirth and renewal, as signified by the return of the sun. Annually, my family lights up the darkest night with a bonfire and the warmth and light of good friends. No matter what your tradition, this is a lovely opportunity to reflect on the year past and set intentions for the year ahead. We have a few schedule changes to reflect the holiday weeks ahead.     As 2020 winds down, let’s make this a month to remember! Set aside time to care for your tender heart as the holidays may not look like they have in years past. Tune in to simple pleasures. Try a new recipe. Read a good book. Go for a hike and breathe in the beauty that surrounds you. Put on some Christmas music and dance in your kitchen. Simmer cinnamon sticks, cloves and orange peel in a pot of water on the stove and let it scent the air. There are so many ways to infuse a little happiness into your life.

    October is my favorite month! Maybe that is because it’s my birthday month (lol) or that I love dressing up on Halloween (Samhain), but I think it goes deeper than that.
