  • Schedule Week of 6/2-6/8
The garden is in. My kids are almost out of school and summer feels like it has begun, even if Mother Nature needs a nudge. There is lots of fun coming up this week! At Peace Tree Yoga, we are spending this month contemplating peace. How do we find it? What does it look like? How can we bring more peace into each day? Who doesn’t want more peace. Let’s explore together! Monday and Wednesday 9am. Also, my last Lyra Arts session is finishing up and I am offering TWO “take a peek” Lyra classes Mon Jun 10 and June 17 at 10:30. These are a great way to see if this is for you before signing up for the next ...
  • Stay the Course.
I’ve done a lot of thinking over the weekend. I attended a workshop on the Bhagavhad Gita and spent some time in contemplation, checking my intention in regards to burlesque. In truth, burlesque feels like yoga to me. Lyra feels like yoga to me. When I do these things, I am healing parts of myself. I am celebrating my wholeness. I am connecting with my body. It is a beautiful alchemy and my intention was to share it with others. At the workshop, I came across this verse: “For one who has conquered the mind rise above the dualities of cold and heat, joy and sorrow, honor and dishonor. Such yogis remain peaceful and steadfast in their devotion to God.” I ...

  • Danger Tits! Burlesque
We are a Troupe of women seeking to empower and express ourselves through dance and the celebration of the female form. Our last show in April was so successful (it sold out not once, but TWICW!) that we are bringing it to our own turf. JUNE 15 at the Bow Lake Community Club 569 Province Rd, Strafford NH. Tickets are $15 and can be bought here. BYOB. Please drink responsibly. Come and see what all the fuss is about!
  • Tits Up!
“I sat with my anger long enough, until she told me her real name was grief.” I am saddened that anyone would dictate to a woman what can be done with her body. I am saddened that a part of me still seeks outside approval. I am realizing that for every step forward is one back. Today, I must acknowledge that my small self is hurt that anyone might think poorly of me. My divine Self knows that what they think is none of my business. From the mouth of Mrs Maisel….”Tits up”. We’ve got a show to get ready for.
  • This is a rant.
I am angry. Really angry. Like a fire in my gut kind of angry. Following my burlesque Troupe’s sold out show, we decided to bring our show to our home town of Strafford. 5 out of 7 members either live in the vicinity or have family that do. We recognized that this raised the embarrassment factor because we could potentially be dancing in front of neighbors and our kid’s friend’s parents (eek!), but the fact that we were so self-conscious was exactly what we wanted to address. We are not ashamed of our dancing or of our bodies, so what is the big deal, right? I reached out to book our local Community Club. We wanted full disclosure of what we ...
  • Schedule Week of 5/12-5/19
Happy Mother’s Day! I recently heard that there are only 2 types of people. Mothers and their children. All of us fall into one of these categories. We are connected in the human experience by these ties. I love this. It transcends differences of gender, socio-economic status, color, religion, political leaning. We are still mothers and their children. That supersedes all else. If we fix our focus there and care for the world as a giver of unconditional love, compassion and acceptance, as well as a recipient of such, what a kinder more gentle world it could be. I will be exploring ways to cultivate this loving-kindness in my classes at the Bow Lake Community Club. Monday and Wednesday 6pm and ...
  • Schedule Week of 5/5-5/11
What a week I’ve just had! Still processing all of it, from my show to hosting my friend, Erin Byron, to the workshop to extra classes I taught. I feel so grateful to have the opportunity to share yoga and movement! This week, at Peace Tree Yoga, I will be sharing the story of the pose, Natarajasana, the Lord of the Dance, in my yoga classes. Monday and Wednesday at 9am. I am enjoying digging into Hindu mythology and how these poses invite you to explore attitude and intention. At the Bow Lake Community Center, I am teaching Monday and Wednesday 6pm and Friday at 9am. We are looking at the 8th limb of yoga this week, samadhi or bliss. This describes ...
