  • Schedule Week of 12/23-12/29 This is it! The time we have been practicing for all month! The time where family gathers and you get off schedule and over caffeinated and eat too much of well, everything, but it’s ok. You may find yourself feeling overwhelmed by the busyness, the chaos, the strong emotion, or just the joy of it all. That’s ok too. You might feel challenged as if the expectation of being jolly is just too much to bear. It’s A-ok. At the end of the day, this too will pass. As all things do. Take a deep breath. Savor the memories, and connections worth savoring. Let go of the things you can’t control… and remember, you have been cultivating your inner light and ...
  • Schedule Week of Dec 16-22 This is the last full week of classes before the holiday. I encourage you to set aside time to join me. Yoga allows you to slow down, tune in, and connect with your inner wisdom and truth. This awareness allows you to move off the mat with a greater sense of ease, of peace and even, purpose. The most important gift though is presence. Being present to yourself, your experience, your intention allows you to be present to others. At Peace Tree Yoga, we will be using pranayama and mantra to raise our vibration and make clear the path to our intention. M/W 9am At the Bow Lake Community Club, we will be exploring our layers of being (keshas), using breath and movement ...
  • Schedule Week of 12/9-12/15 “May you have no barriers in your heart May all that flows your way bathe you in loving kindness May all the flows through you nourish others with loving kindness May you know the gift of an open heart” ~Thich Nhat Hanh   We have done the work, inquiring within, cultivating contentment and acceptance, setting an intention for how we want to feel this month and using that intention as our compass to guide how we travel through our world. Now it is time to grant ourselves a gift. A gift of presence. Of love. Of an open heart. Join me this week to accept this gift to yourself: Peace Tree Yoga M/W 9am and Bow Lake Community Club M/W 6pm and Fri 9am. I can’t wait to share this with ...
  • Week of 12/2-12/8 Happy December! I am continuing to seek a more mindful and meaningful holiday season. Last week, we cultivated contentment and practiced noticing thoughts that don’t support this profound acceptance. This week, we will begin to curate our month. Make a list of the traditions and activities that are important to you. Get out your calendar and write these in. Create space to be with those you love and doing things you love. Don’t forget to leave space to rest. Observe how you are feeling as you do this. Has your breathing changed? What needs to shift for you to feel the way you want to? Can we create a greater sense of ease, or vibrancy to support you? At Peace Tree, this is ...
  • Homework for the last week of November For those who took on my homework this week: Further contemplating Sutra II:42 “By contentment, supreme joy is gained.” I invite my students to check in at various times throughout this week and just acknowledge what they are experiencing without labelling it as good or bad, holding an awareness that they are cultivating contentment or acceptance of what is. Secondly, I began to ponder what gets in the way of our experience of contentment? I can up with these three culprits: ~The Qualifier. Those thoughts that think “If I had ________________, then I could be or feel or have ____________________________. ” Why can’t you have it now? Why are you qualifying when you deserve to feel good? ~ The Predictor. Those thoughts that predict your belief ...
  • Schedule Week of 11/25-12/1 As many of you know, at this time of year, I take on a  personal mission to support and inspire my students (and myself!) to experience a more meaningful and mindful holiday. We look to the ancient teachings of Yoga to find value inward, to push back against the commercialism that inspires a sense of lack, and discover abundance in our hearts and richness in our community. This week, we will spend the last days of November counting our blessings allowing ourselves to be reminded of the bounty that surrounds us when we explore contentment and non-attachment. Join me at Peace Tree Yoga M/W 9am and at The Bow Lake Community Center M/W 6pm and Fri 9am Can not wait to see you on the mat! Lanta
  • What next? Nothing like having a procedure the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and then, waking up on Wednesday to full blown vertigo. Seriously. I took a few minutes to feel sorry for myself. Well, maybe a few hours…no judging. I called the Dr and got a prescription of meclizine to slow the spin and made an appointment to figure out why this has been recurring so frequently.  I  allowed my husband and sons to step up to prepare the house and food for Thanksgiving and I plotted. I mean, what else can you do when laying in bed is your only comfortable, non nausea-inducing option? So….what was I plotting? Let me tell you! I was plotting the future of DANGER TITS! Burlesque and what I want ...
