  • Schedule Week of 11/25-12/1 As many of you know, at this time of year, I take on a  personal mission to support and inspire my students (and myself!) to experience a more meaningful and mindful holiday. We look to the ancient teachings of Yoga to find value inward, to push back against the commercialism that inspires a sense of lack, and discover abundance in our hearts and richness in our community. This week, we will spend the last days of November counting our blessings allowing ourselves to be reminded of the bounty that surrounds us when we explore contentment and non-attachment. Join me at Peace Tree Yoga M/W 9am and at The Bow Lake Community Center M/W 6pm and Fri 9am Can not wait to see you on the mat! Lanta
  • What next? Nothing like having a procedure the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and then, waking up on Wednesday to full blown vertigo. Seriously. I took a few minutes to feel sorry for myself. Well, maybe a few hours…no judging. I called the Dr and got a prescription of meclizine to slow the spin and made an appointment to figure out why this has been recurring so frequently.  I  allowed my husband and sons to step up to prepare the house and food for Thanksgiving and I plotted. I mean, what else can you do when laying in bed is your only comfortable, non nausea-inducing option? So….what was I plotting? Let me tell you! I was plotting the future of DANGER TITS! Burlesque and what I want ...

  • Schedule Week of 11/4-11/10 I awoke early this morning and got to witness a beautiful sunrise. I know that it will be dark earlier this evening and I had to sit with the thoughts that brought. Irritability. A heaviness. Then my mind wandered to our Nation’s midterm elections and my views on the patriarchy that is so pervasive. This belief system has caught us all up and limited all of us. I see men who stuff their emotions to “act like  a man” and then, hold that in the tension in their hips and backs and shoulders. And women. Sigh. Where do I begin to encompass the ways we have been affected by this way of thinking? So, these are the thought that run through my ...
  • Schedule for Week of 10/28-11/3. What!?! November!!!! Like Thanksgiving? Then Christmas? Then a whole-nother year? Is my heart the only one that leapt at this post’s title? It’s a good thing that Yoga reminds us to be present to NOW. The past is gone and the present is not a guarantee. How are you living now? This week, let’s enrich our experience of “now” by connecting to our breath, committing to being more mindful and doing yoga! • Shift. It has been a week since I turned 50! A busy week. Usually after a lot of output (leading a retreat/a performance/an event), I set aside a day or two to unwind, process and refuel. Last week did not offer that to me and so, I plodded on arriving at Friday night curled up sound asleep on the couch at 6:30 pm. I vowed to make this week a little more restful although I knew Ron would be away on a business trip. That said, I booked a massage with my friend Siuzanne Jenkins of Kriya Yoga. My Yoga by Donation students had given me a gift certificate for my birthday and I was ready for it! The massage, as always, ...

  • I AM 50! It came. It went. This much anticipated event. I worked so hard and trained for so long and my knee swelled the Wednesday before and I was still in a knee brace having trouble bearing weight on it the day of my performance. Interesting. I would think that this would greatly upset or disappoint me, but it didn’t. My long time friends were in town and I was committed to enjoying their company and frankly, enjoying myself. The party began and I was able to greet most of my guests before having to go change for the performance. It was amazing to look across Sue’s Space, transformed into a Speakeasy and be transported by the dapper men and magnificent sequined, fringed ...
