Loving-Kindness Meditation (Metta)

Cultivate a deep and abiding love for yourself with this meditation.

Find a comfortable seat. Allow the eyes to close and begin to draw your attention to your breath. Invite yourself to be filled with a sense of warmth and well-being. Repeat these phrases once. Notice your ease or resistance. Let go of any negative reaction by taking a few deep breaths, exhaling through the mouth. Repeat the phrases again. Finish with a few more cleansing breaths. Gather the hands to the heart in prayer pose. Bow to your inner wisdom. Offer up gratitude for the presence to take on this practice. Namaste.

May I be healthy.

May I live with ease.

OR

My heart fills with loving kindness. I love myself.

May I be happy.

May I be well.

May I be peaceful.

May I be free.
