I am sitting in the sunshine, seeing robins out my window. I find myself so thrilled by the warmer days. The depth of this feeling fills me with curiousity. Why do I allow my moods to be determined by things I can not control? This is a great reminder to continue to turn inward and develop my relationship to joy within. Pratyahara, the fifth limb of yoga, invites us to do just that-make a conscious effort to draw our awareness from the external world and direct our attention internally. We will be working with this through out the week at the Bow Lake Community Center. Mon and Wed 6pm and Fri 9am
At Peace Tree Yoga, we are continuing to develop our focus on “Bloom where you are planted”. I am teaching yoga Mon and Wed 9am. Monday completes the last day of our Lyra Arts session. The students have come so far in 5 weeks and can perform an entire song on the lyra! If you are interested in joining us for the next session which begins April 29, you can sign up here. Aerial Conditioning also resumes May 1. Drop in in $20 or purchase the session at a reduced rate of $75 for 5 classes here.
In February, a group of women came together to empower and express themselves through dance in the burlesque tradition. Their hard work culminates in a private show on April 27 at Sue’s in Rollinsford, NH. If you are interested in joining us to support their effort or are just curious, you can purchase tickets here.
Lastly, save the date!! I am excited to announce that Erin Byron is returning to offer a new workshop!! Peeking Into The Corners: Yoga and Creativity to Honor the Shadow Self May 2 6-8pm $40 includes materials. Expect to play creatively with the voice of the saboteur/critic/nay-sayers in our heads. We’ll move through accessible yoga postures that relate to facing the shadow self and find ways to work WITH our darker parts. We will also have the chance to respond to the mean voice inside via the same creative means we first expressed it.
Yay! So proud to have so much to offer!
Yours in Yoga,
